The course carefully aligns the development of a Project file with the building of Scope, Time, Resource, and Cost baselines. The course teaches basic to intermediate project set-up skills using Microsoft Project. Students create work breakdown structures, add durations to tasks, populate resource sheets, and derive costs to baseline and track activities in Microsoft Project. This class gives students substantial hands-on practice in creating, tracking, and documenting scope, time, resources, and costs in Microsoft Project. The course carefully aligns the development of a Project file with the building of Scope, Time, Resource, and Cost baselines. The course teaches basic to intermediate project set-up skills using Microsoft Project. Students create work breakdown structures, add durations to tasks, populate resource sheets, and derive costs to baseline and track activities in Microsoft Project and practice techniques in group case studies. The class provides 21 PDUs towards PMP® certification in a three-day classroom format.

Advanced Microsoft Excel

AMSE brings project managers up to the “advanced” level of Microsoft Excel skill development in a project management context. The course teaches advanced analytical Excel techniques for managing scope, time, resources, and costs on projects. Attention is given to logical functions, time functions, conditional formatting, pivot tables, and text functions. The course provides each student with an electronic workbook, which has over 35 sheets that are illustrated as the course progresses. Each student will leave the class with BlackBox’s Project Manager’s Excel Toolkit, which contains templates for creating all of the essential artifacts of project management in Excel. This class provides 7 PDUs towards PMP® certification in a one-day classroom format.
