Project Management Training

Project Management courses provide organizations and individuals with basic and advanced training in the planning and execution of projects. All courses are in alignment with the current version of the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and all courses are registered with the Project Management Institute (PMI®).

Introduction To Project Management

IPM introduces the language, processes, tools, and techniques of project management according to the PMI® The PMBOK® Guide standard in a lively and example-rich classroom environment. IPM has been taught to a range of students from novice to deeply-experienced project managers. Hands-on practice in developing key project management artifacts is provided to participants using BlackBox’s electronic templates in classroom exercises, case studies, and homework. The class has been tailored according to client requirements in the civilian government, oil and gas, and heavy construction industries. The class provides 24 PDUs towards PMP® certification in a three-day classroom format with homework and group activities.

PMIT introduces the language, processes, tools, and techniques of project management according to the PMI® The PMBOK® Guide standard in a lively and example-rich classroom environment. This course is designed for IT organizations and personnel. Examples, illustrations, and case studies are specific to IT projects. PMIT has been taught to a range of students from novice to deeply-experienced project managers. Hands-on practice in developing key project management artifacts is provided to participants using BlackBox’s electronic templates in classroom exercises, case studies, and homework. The class has been tailored according to client requirements in the civilian government, oil and gas, and heavy construction industries. The class provides 21 PDUs towards PMP® certification in a three-day classroom format with homework and group activities.

Advanced Time & Cost Management

ATC teaches the language, processes, tools, and techniques of time and cost management according to the PMI® The PMBOK® Guide standard in a lively and example-rich classroom environment. Case studies and exercises emphasize hands-on practice of concepts taught in the course. Special attention is paid to improving time and cost definition, estimation, and tracking techniques. The class provides an in-depth treatment of Earned Value Management (EVM) methods and an introduction to Earned Schedule Management (ESM) methods. The class provides 24 PDUs towards PMP® certification in a three-day classroom format.

Advanced Risk Management

ARM teaches the language, processes, tools, and techniques of Risk Management framed in a context of project decision making under conditions of uncertainty. The course is provided in a lively example-rich classroom environment and can either be tailored to a company’s defined risk tools or delivered using a BlackBox-provided set of tools. The course is organized according to the PMI®’s six-step Risk Management process from The PMBOK® Guide standard.
